Overview
Wellspring Homeschool is a solution for homeschool parents who desire a collaborative approach with Wellspring for curricular and instructional support.
Parents are given access to Wellspring’s curriculum and instructional resources. These resources are utilized to provide instruction to their children.
For specialty subjects such as Quran and Islamic Studies as well as art, technology, and physical education, parents can elect to have their children access live instruction through our Wellspring Virtual program.
Pre-requisites
How It Works
Families attend an orientation seminar to help them understand and navigate Wellspring’s learning management system, course material, communication with the school, and completion and submission of assignments and grades. The orientation is also available virtually to be viewed at any time.
Parents are responsible for instructing their children, submitting coursework grades by designated due dates, and contacting Wellspring if there are any questions or additional assistance is needed.
Advantages
Students’ educational experiences are with their parents. Students are immersed in research-based, high-quality curriculum materials developed by leading educational publishers and approved by the NYC Department of Education. Families receive a scope and sequence for each course, digital textbooks and workbooks, and strategies for curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
Wellspring Homeschool students are eligible to participate in local, state, and national assessments. Some assessments can be taken virtually, while others must be administered face-to-face. Parents can elect for their child to take NWEA- MAPs, NYS grades 3-8 ELA, math, science, and social studies assessments, or curriculum-based assessments.
Wellspring also works with parents to provide differentiated and targeted support for their children as needed. Parents are supported in providing assistance when deceleration and/or acceleration of the curriculum is needed. Families also have access to online library resources.
Families who live locally have the ability to participate in Wellspring’s field trips, special events, graduation, and after school programs for additional opportunities that promote socialization, wellness, and extracurricular activities.
